Republican Healthcare “Plan” Jeopardizes Funding for Nursing Homes and Threatens Jobs

.

The American Health Care Act (Republican Healthcare “Plan”) will have negative effects on older Americans. Newly compiled data make the case that the care seniors receive in nursing homes and in the community is at-risk if Republicans slash funding for Medicaid.

.

In Philadelphia and Allegheny Counties alone, over 39,000 adults over age 55 rely upon Medicaid for nursing home care or senior care in their homes and communities. This care also supports over 250,000 jobs in the Commonwealth. A near $1 trillion cut to Medicaid puts care for seniors, jobs, and economic activity in jeopardy. Below is a break down of the harmful effects the Republican Healthcare Plan will have on each county in Pennsylvania.
