Chairman Scott, Ranking Member Gillibrand Announce Aging Hearing on How Competition, Price Transparency Can Cut Health Care Costs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Wednesday, October 22, Chairman Rick Scott and Ranking Member Kirsten Gillibrand of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging will hold a hearing titled Modernizing Health Care: How Shoppable Services Improve Outcomes and Lower Costs.” This hearing will spotlight how price transparency and shoppable health care services can benefit consumers, drive competition and cut costs. Witnesses will discuss various innovative models that can offer higher value at lower prices, while also exploring the barriers to transparency, such as the lack of upfront pricing, and how removing these obstacles can empower patients and improve system-wide efficiency.
